honey cake

honey cake is one of my favorite cakes of all  time. it’s so delicious , creamy and soft . You can instantly taste honey and creamy custard in your mouth .

It is such a great choice for any special occasion. I made this cake for my husband’s birthday and verybody loved it! Say no more, let’s get the recipe started!

 

 

 

  1. for custard creme (it can be made ahead of time)
  2. 1.mix egg yolks ,sugar and vanilla extract together, whisk them well and set aside. In a large source pan, combine milk and flour , whisk them well until no clumps remain. Cook milk and flour over low heat. constantly stirring milk until it got thicken, do not let it boil. this may take about 5-6 minutes.
  3. 2. whisk hot milk into egg yolk mix slowly until well combined. then pour it back to source pan with low heat on. constantly stirring tthe mixture for about 7 minutes until custard creme formed. Remove custard creme from heat and add in butter. Whisk butter well until melted completely. Cover the bowel with plastic wrapping and put in the fridge to cool down.
  4. For honey cake layer:
  5. 1.combine white vinegar with baking soda in a small bowl and set aside.
  6. 2. In a source pan, combine honey, sugar, eggs and butter together . Constantly whisk the mixture with low heart on. About 7 minutes later, the mixture starts to bubble, doubled in size and turn into a darker colour.
  7. 3. Remove honey mixture from stove and carefully mix with flour. Additional flour will be needed if the dough is too sticky. knitted the dough until it's really soft. Evenly divided the dough into eight portions for next step.
  8. 4. preheated oven to 400 °F ( 200 ℃180℃ fan) , and put parchment paper in 2 or 3 8-inch cake pans. Press 1 portion of dough into each pan and create a very thin layer. Put one cake pan into oven each time and bake it for 5 minutes until they are golden brown. Repeat this step until 8 layers have all been baked properly. Put honey cake layers on a rack and let them cool down completely.
  9. 5. After honey cake layers cool down completely, it's time to put everything together. Take one layer of cake and put generous amoumt of custard creme on it and spead custard creme evenly. Then put another cake layer on top and put custard creme again. Repeat this step and work all your way through until the last cake layer has been coverd with custard creme on top.
  10. 6. Now It's time for garnish.Put coffie cookies in a plastic bag and seal it properly,squeeze all air out. Use a rooling pin to roll over the bag repeatly until cookies become small crumbs.
  11. 7 Carefully put garnish on top and side of the cake. Finally you can decorate the top with any seasoning fruit you want. I used cherry and blackbeery . Now tt's time to dig in and hope you enjoy this delicous cake!
